The next three months..

..were harder..

Approaching six months pregnant, the closet was freed of tons of space as old clothes were thrown out or packed away for post-birth use. New basic items were badly needed. Even the mama-pants were starting to get tight and uncomfy. This was the right time to upgrade my look. But how?

There aren't many places to find inspiration for cute pregnant looks. I found a few blogs though: check out http://piink-lady.blogspot.com and http://blogg.expressen.se/modebloggen/.

Angelina in black dressAnd of course, pictures of pregnant celebrities can be inspiring. But, for some reason, they mostly chose to show off their pregnancy in summer outfit - not a suitable style for October through March.

And what was my style, really?? The mama-clothes available seemed suitable for a classy business style, and mostly in black or white. Neither black nor white suit my fair colors.

After skimming through some fashion magazines, I could categorize myself within the street-chic category, with a touch of cozy-chic and boho-chic.

Translating into my style:
  • New boots.
  • Forget pants all together and buy several thick mama-stockings.
  • Buy new longer basic tops to keep my enormous belly warm. Go for the color gray instead of B/W.
  • Wear my stretchy dresses over this.
The result can be seen in postings to come...

The first three months

The first three months were easy:
  1. Wear black/dark tops/sweaters with a forgiving cut while it's a nearly none-showing secret.
  2. New pants when the old ones won't close. Go for jeans - a classic in whatever style whether boot-cut or slim fit. I got my pair handed down from my sister.
  3. When it's time to tell: wear white/light tops/sweaters to show off the cutest baby bump!
